Arrival at Kathmandu

Day 1

As soon as you arrive at Kathmandu airport, one of our representatives will greet you and transport you to your hotel. You might as well spend the day resting in your hotel or stroll around Thamel if you are up for some antique shopping.

Sightseeing in Kathmandu

Day 2

You will come across several world heritage sites soon as you arrive Kathmandu . You might as well visit the UNESCO-listed Durbar Squares, a popular pilgrimage site for the hindus,Pashupatinath, the Monkey Temple (Swayambhunath), and the Buddhist temple of Bouddhanath and so on.

Flight from Kathmandu – Tumlingtar and drive to Chichira

Day 3

Almost four hours flight to Tumlingtar and then a drive to the Gurung settlement of Chichira is part of today’s plan. We'll spend the nighat Chichira.

Trek from Chichira - Num

Day 4

Today we are up for a relatively long trip which ranges for almost six to seven hours . We will follow a trail that will lead us to a plethora of distinct settlements. We will walk past the forested land and the mountains until we wrrive at Num. We will stay the night at Num.

Trek from Num - Seduwa

Day 5

Today we will descend through the forest and across terraced fields until we will reach the Barun River. We will reach the Makalu Barun National Park after crossing and re-crossing the river, where we must register and receive a permit. Then we'll keep going till we get to Seduwa, where we'll spend the night.

Trek from Seduwa – Tashi Gaon

Day 6

Today, we will descend down to Kasuwa Khola river for some four to five hours. Then begins an ascent through the fields and hills until we reach Tashi Gaon. It is a beautiful village encumbered with all the beautiful views of the Himalayas . We'll spend the night here.

Trek from Tashi Gaon – Kahuma Danda

Day 7

Today we are initiating our trek with an ascent to Chipla Village. The village stands still at the top of the ridge. Walking past the forested land , we will reach Kharka Village (2900m) and finally Unshisha Village. Then after an uphill walk , we will reach Dhara Kharka, a little grazing pasture at the ridge's summit. We will then make our way down to Kahuma Danda Village, where we will spend the night.

Rest Day at Kahuma Danda

Day 8

We will have a leisure day today, so we can catch up on laundry and explore the neighborhood, taking in the natural beauty of the area. We'll spend the night here in Kahuma Danda.

Trek from Kahuma Danda – Mumbuk

Day 9

We can see the twin peaks of Chamlang, Peak 6 and Peak 7 right today. We will ascend through a stony path from the top of the slope to a tiny lake until we reach Kike La Pass. After that, we will descend from the pass through a rhododendron forest to Mumbuk Village, where we will spend the night.

Trek from Mumbuk – Nehe Kharka

Day 10

We are going to trek through the steep slope past the a valley before crossing the Barun Khola. We will continue along the riverbank until we reach the village of Yangri Kharka.

Trek from Nehe Kharka – Sherson

Day 11

Today , we will walk past the trail through the bridge over Barun river . We will catch the sight of beautiful Barun glacier along with the majestic MT Makalu standing just as high. The lower base camp for MT. Makalu is situated in here. There is all the marvelous views of Mount Makalu and MT . Barun that can be gleaed from here. At night, we will stay at Sherson.

Trek from Sherson – Makalu Base Camp

Day 12

Today, we'll travel to the world's highest base camp. Before reaching the base camp on the river's west bank, we will pass through a boulder-strewn terrain. We will get spectacular views of Makalu's south face, Mt Everest, Baruntse, Peaks 6 and 7, and Lhotse from here. This is without a doubt the journey's high point.

Exploration Day at Makalu Base Camp

Day 13

Today, we will stroll around Makalu Base Camp and relish our hard earned journey. The surroundin is all gleaming by the Barun Glacier. We will also get to witnesss the beautiful views of Mt. Everest and Mt. Lhotse, along with the south face of Makalu.

Trek from Makalu Base Camp – Nehe Kharka

Day 14

This will be the day for us to return back to Nehe Kharka. I same trail we’ve taken before and spend the night there.

Trek from Nehe Kharka – Mumbuk

Day 15

We will travel to Mumbuk walking through the Rhododendron and Pine Forest today. We will arrive in time to witness the sunset over the mountains. We'll spend the night here in Mumbuk.

Trek from Mumbuk – Kauma

Day 16

We will leave Mumbuk today and trek across the Shipton La Pass to Kauma Village, where we will spend the night.

Trek from Kauma – Tashi Gaon

Day 17

We will descend to Tashi Gaon today. We will also make sure that we have plenty time to relax and huddle ourself for higher altitudes.

Trek from Tashi Gaon – Balung

Day 18

Today we will pass through the ripen fields to reach Ipsuwa Khola (river). We will stop for lunch after crossing a suspension bridge . The, we will set off for Baglung.Overnight at Baglung

Trek from Balung – Pukuwa

Day 19

Today's journey will take us to the Rai town of Walung (880m), then across the Apsawa Khola (river), and up to Chhayang Village, another Rai settlement. We'll continue on to Parangbu Village and then to Pukuwa (550m), where we'll spend the night.

Trek from Pukuwa – Bumling

Day 20

Today we will travel to Tome. We will move further down to the Arun Valley that passes through the banks of the Sankhuwa Khola (river) to the Chhetri village of Bumling. We will spend the night at Bumling.

Trek from Bumling – Tumlingtar

Day 21

Today will be the last day of the trek. We will follow the river downstream to a point where it meets the Arun river.We will then climb back up the Tumlingtar plateau to the hotel where we will spend the night.

Trek from Tumlingtar – Kathmandu

Day 22

Today we will fly back to Kathmandu overlooking the majestic mountains . You might as well like some souvenir shopping at Thamel or simply stroll around Kathmandu.

Final Departure

Day 23

Time to say goobye. Don’t miss some wonderful shoppings. Also , we will make sure to get you to the TRibhuwan International Airport just in time. After bidding some warm goodbyes , we will wish for your pleasant memories back and forth to home.


Barun valley is one of those places in the world that is latent to the world but is astoundingly beautiful. A Himalayan valley located at the base of the Makalu Himal, Barun valley is a haven for all the rich beauty of nature. Enamoured with rich flora and fauna, Barun valley is a destination full up of diversity. A lot of endangered species are harboured along the route of the Makalu Base camp.
