Annapurna Circuit trek is one of the most spectacular treks in the Annapurna region .It comes  with allt the amazing adventures  and joys of majestic mountains, waterfalls, dense cherry and rhododendron forests, and splendid  view of the sunrise. The awe  inspiring thrill of crossing the Thorong La Pass (5,416m),the life healing bath in the natural hot spring, the trek undertaken through world;s deepest gorge of Kali Gandaki River, and the Muktinath, Jomsom and Manang might be the perfect retreats to  captivate you. Throughout the trip you get to pass through several small/large villages inhabited by different ethnic groups. It will be a wonderful opportunity for you to  learn about their culture and lifestyle. The 21 days itinerary of this trek starts after your arrival in Kathmandu. An extra day shall be spent exploring the valley and visiting the UNESCO World Heritage Sites. Next day, you shall drive to Khudi via Pokhara and Naya Pul. You shall then trek to Sirung. Via Jagat, Dharapani, Chame, Pisang, you shall reach Manang.
 Acclimatization is very important. This is why you shall spend an extra day at Manang. The route then moves through Yak Kharka to Thorong Pheid. Next day, on your way to Muktinath, you shall cross the Thorong La Pass. Via Marpha, Kalopani, Tatopani, Ghorepani.  You shall arrive at Poon Hill to witness the blissful sunrise views. Then via Tadapani, Ghandruk, you shall return back to Pokhara. Next day,you shall take a drive for about   6-7 hour  to Kathmandu.

Trip Itinerary

Day 1 : Arrival in Kathmandu

You shall find our representative waiting for your arrival at the Tribhuvan International Airport. They will receive you and take you to  your hotel. You can walk around the street after you rest. We shall be dining together enjoying some of the local cuisines .That might as well  give you a tentative  idea about what to expect for the rest of your stay. Stay overnight in Kathmandu.

Altitude: Kathmandu: 1,320m

Day 2 : Sightseeing in Kathmandu

You would not want to miss Pashupatinath Temple, Basantapur Durbar Square, Bouddhanath, the famous  world heritage sites as for this day. It is entirely up to you to make the use of the whole day to explore the city as much as  you can. You can buy some gears for the trek. We shall again be sitting together for a short debrief session and ensure we have everything we want. Stay overnight in Kathmandu.

Day 3 : Drive to Khudi

From the winding highway that overlooks  the Trishuli River, you will get to catch glances  of scattered huts and terraced fields on the hills. From Mugling, the vehicle moves  to Pokhara, and then to Besisahar. You shall arrive at Khudi after a half hour drive from Besisahar. Ideally it takes 7-8 hours to reach Khudi from the capital . However, if you wish to trek from Besisahar to Khudi rather than driving, the time might change. Stay overnight at Khudi.

Attitude: 800m

Day 4 : Khudi to Sirung

The beginning of the trek is easy, but the trail gets steeper as you advance further ahead. Crossing rivers and waterfalls, making a few ascents and descents, you will get even more closer to the mountain views. Passing the Taranche Village inhabited by  the Tamangs, you reach Sirung Village. The beauty of Manaslu peaks and Nadi Chuli is a  welcome distraction. Stay overnight at Sirung.

Altitude: Sirung: 2,200m

Day 5 : Sirung to Jagat:

The trail is relatively easy to pass .As you stroll through the  terraced fields and the settlement, you penetrate the forest. It also supplants a tremendous opportunity  to spot several kinds of birds. Leaving few small villages and temples, you reach Sangu Khola. After crossing this river, there is another river ,the Marshyangdi . Walking along the river bed, you reach Jagat Village. Stay overnight at Jagat.

Altitude: Jagat: 1,300m

Day 6 : Jagat to Dharapani

After a short descent there comes a river. Then there is  the trail moving past   a dense forest. A short ascent takes you to a cliff; the trail further goes to a river. Then comes a steep clima. This might be moderately challenging. A descent to a riverbank takes you to Tal. The rugged and twisting path takes you to Karte Village. Leaving the cliffs and waterfalls you arrive at Dharapani. Stay overnight at Dharapani.

Altitude: Dharapani: 1,960

Day 7 : Dharapani to Chame:

You need to make it  through the ridges to reach Chame. The breathtaking views of Mt. Annapurna II, Annapurna IV, and Lamjung Himal shall amuse  you until you reach Chame. The naturally warm spring is another attraction of today’s trek; nothing is as soothing as the warm water washes your body. Stay overnight at Chame.
Altitude: Chame: 2,710m

Day 8 : Chame to Pisang

The narrow and steep trail proceeds  through a lush forest and reaches a rock face. It might be quite a tough ascent.All the  steps are carved in the rock. As you succeed to make it  through the rock  you will reach the valley. Overlooking the Paungda Danda, you shall trek for some time  to reach Pisang. Stay overnight at Pisang.

Altitude: Pisang: 3,300m

Day 9 : Pisang to Manag

You shall follow the route goes through Geru to Upper Pisang. As you advance further you will witness the variations in vegetation and landscape around you. You shall visit the largest monastery in the Manag district& the Barge Monastery. As you walk through the dry and cold climate you shall reach Manang. Stay overnight in Manang.

Day 10 : Explore Manang


Explore Manang
 With the increase in  altitude in a, it is very important to allocate  time for acclimatization. The higher the altitude  scarcer the level of oxugen . It takes time to be compatible with everything. Today you shall explore Manang and visit the Bhojo Gumba. You might also fancy a visit to Gangapurna Lake, and the Himalayan Rescue Association at Vraga Village. Stay overnight at Manang.

Day 11 : Manang to Yak Kharka

The trail leads to a stream and ascends to Tenki Village, and exiting the Marshyangdi Valley, it continues towards the Jarsang Khola Valley. On the way there are scattered juniper trees and pastures . Eventually, the trail reaches the  meadows. Crossing a narrow river, leaving an old Mani Wall, the trail takes you to Yak Kharka Village. Stay overnight at Yak Kharka.

Altitude: Yak Kharka: 4,110m

Day 12 : Yak Kharka to Thorong Phedi

A light walk will take you to the river. Once you cross the suspension bridge, you arrive at Ledar Village. There are cliffs you have to pass through before arriving at the last village in your journey to Thorong La Pass&;Thorong Phedi. Throughout the trip, you will find it wonderfull to watch the majestic Mt. Syagang, Gundang, Thorung Peak and Khatungkan. Stay overnight at Thorong Phedi. 

Altitude: Thorong Phedi: 4,600m

Day 13 : Thorong Phedi to Muktinath via Thorong La Pass:

Today will be the day to witness some of the adventures and attractions of the entire journey. Thorong La Pass is one of  world’s highest passes. The safest and easiest way to cross the pass is crossing from Manang to Muktinath. Early in the morning you shall start crossing the pass. The top offers breathtaking views of mountains and landscape. After a while, you shall descend down and continue your trip to Muktinath. It takes about 7-8 hours to arrive at Muktinath from Phedi. Stay overnight at Muktinath.

Altitude: Muktinath: 3,800m

Day 14 : Muktinath to Marpha:

Your day starts visiting a Gompa and a Vishnu Temple in Muktinath. The descending trail takes you down to the Ranipauwa Village, and continues through Jomsom to Marpha. Above the Kali Gandaki River is a plateau.The bare views are similar to Tibet. Once you reach Marpha, you are bound to be amazed by the varieties of apple given that  this place is considered as apple capital in the country. Stay overnight at Marpha.

Altitude: Marpha: 2,670m

Day 15 : Marpha to Kalopani

Today’s trail takes you to Kalopani via a new route of Chokhopani Village. Passing the ancient villages inhabited by Thakali, the wonderful apple gardens, and witnessing the views of Mt. Tukuche, Dhaulagiri, Fang, Nilgiri, and Annapurna I, you shall arrive at Chokhopani. Via Khokhethanti, crossing a road site you shall arrive at Kalopani. Stay overnight at Kalopani.

Altitude: Kalopani: 2,530m

Day 16 : Kalopani to Tatopani

The trail leads you to Ghasa, where you shall cross a bridge and descend down through subtropical forests. Then comes the waterfall and Rupse Chahara. Once you pass it  further down, leaving Dana, the trail takes you to Kopchepani. Narchyang Besi boasts a hydroelectricity plant. Passing several dense villages, the trail takes you to today’s destination—Tatopani. You can have a warm and soothing bath in a natural hot spring here. Stay overnight at Tatopani.

Altitude: Tatopani: 1,200m

Day 17 : Tatopani to Ghorepani

The trail leads  you to Ghar Khola valley .As you move foreward, terraced fields embraced by mountains shall greet you . Once you leave Shikha and Chitre Villages,  you will find yourself walking through a lush forest full with rhododendron. A comfortable walk further takes you to a ridge of Ghorepani. Stay overnight at Ghorepani. It takes about 7-8 hours from Tatopani to reach Ghorepani.

Altitude: Ghorepani: 2,850m

Day 18 : Ghorepani to Poon Hill/ Tadapani

Poon Hill is one of those places where you can get the best glimpses of sunrise. You shall leave you bed early in the morning and start towards the viewpoint through the steep trail. It offers you magnificent views of over 20 mountains, and places like Pokhara and Mustang. The white-mountains are everywhere around you, radiating as the first light hits the peaks. Descending down through rhododendron forest, passing another waterfall, you reach Tadapani. Stay overnight at Tadapani.

Altitude: Poon Hill: 3,210m; Tadapani: 2,700m

Day 19 : Tadapani to Pokhara via Ghandruk

The trail takes you through dark and dense forest downward. Through the forest of rhododendrons, and cherry, you arrive at a slope containing stone houses; this is Ghandruk. This place is mostly inhabited by gurungs. Here again, the close views of Mt. Annapurna South, Machhapuchhre, and Hiunchuli shall embrace you. The trail continues further to Naya Pul. From Naya Pul you shall drive to Pokhara. Stay overnight in Pokhara.

Day 20 : Pokhara to Kathmandu

It is a 6-7 hour drive from Pokhara to Kathmandu. After breakfast in the morning, you shall hop into a vehicle and enjoy the bumpy ride to the capital city. Our representative shall take you to your hotel, where nothing can beat a long rest. We shall be sitting together sharing our experiences enjoying local dishes in the evening. Stay the last night in Kathmandu.

Day 21 : Departure

Our representative shall be waiting outside the hotel for you to get ready. Then, they shall take you to the airport to depart.We hope you have a happy journey back  home. Cherish the memories of the trek.
