Everest base camp and Gokyo lakes trek is one of
those challenging and awe inspiring treks in the Everest region .Embued with
the scenic beauty of lakes, challenging walks over glacial moraines, dunes, and
steep trail, ascents to Gokyo Ri and Kalapatthar; the bystanders will get to venture joyous alteriety of all the scenic beauties in
the mountain region.
Another sight
for you to relish is Kalapatthar. You will get to pick the sight of the 360 degree panoramic views of Everest and
other mountains. Also, climbing the
Gokyo Ri offers you mesmerizing views of mountains, lakes, glacier ;the
Ngozumpa Glacier, and valley down below.

What are the sights to watch?

Details about the trek:
Range of the trek: 20 days.
Your trek ranges for twenty days starting from the
day you land to Kathmandu. After an extra allocated day for sightseeing in
Kathmandu, you shall fly to Lukla. Then you will embark to Phakding. You shall
spend an additional day at Namche Bazar
for acclimatization and exploration, and head off towards Tengboche. Via
Dingboche, Lobuche, Gorakshep, you are all set for Everest Base Camp. After watching
the sunrise from Kalapatthar, we will move along the trail that descends down
to Pheriche.

You will see our representative
waiting in the airport to pick you up and take you to your hotel. Soon as you
reach the hotel you are up for some rest. Then, time to explore the city. In the
evening, we are all set for typical Nepalese dishes for the dinner. Such
introductory taste shall give you a brief information about what to expect in
dinner and lunch in Nepal. You will stay overnight in Kathmandu.
Altitude: Kathmandu: 1,320m
This day you shall delve
deeper into the city and go as far as possible. Considering its historical and
religious significance, Kathmandu has lot to offer you. Kathmandu have a range
of cultural landmarks including the Basantapur Durbar Square, Swayambhunath,
Boudhhanath, and the Pashupatinath Temple enlisted in the World Heritage list.
If you have missed any trekking gear, you can purchase it on this day. We shall be talking about our plan,
preparation, and arrangement, and ensure we got everything we need on our meeting at the evening. You shall then, stay
overnight in Kathmandu.
Altitude: Phakding: 2,651m
This 30-minute flight
over the hilly and mountainous landscape takes you to Lukla. Then, you shall
start trekking towards Phakding. Passing the Cheplung Village, the trail
descends further down to Mt. Khumbila, also known as the virgin mountain. This will
be a sight to greet you in the very beginning. Considering its religious significance,
no climbing is allowed to this mountain. The trail descends down to Phakding. You
will Stay overnight at Phakding.
Altitude: Namche Bazar: 3,438m
Soon as you cross the
suspension bridge over Dudh Koshi, you will march through the forests of pines down to Monjo Village. All your permits will be
checked at Sagarmatha National Park, another world heritage site. The trail
then descends down to Dudh Koshi River, crossing the Hillary Suspension Bridge.
An ascent leads you to Namche Bazaar; the Gateway to Everest and largest
settlement of Sherpas in this region. You will stay overnight at Namche Bazar
Altitude: Namche Bazar: 3,438m
There is a range of things to do at Namche Bazar.
You can pay a visit to the Sagarmatha National Park and enjoy the spectacular
views of several mountains and hilly landscape. You might want to stop over to
a Sherpa Museum nearby to know more
about their history.Also get ready to be encumbered with the majestic view of Mt. Everest, along with the flora and fauna
around. A couple of hour hike from Namche Bazar takes you to the Everest View
Point. Pay visit to a monastery and the Hillary School. Stay overnight at
Namche Bazar.
Altitude: Tengboche: 3,870m
The trail descends down
to Phunki Thanka and ascends uphill through forests full with black juniper,
fir, and blue pine to the largest monastery in the Khumbu region; the Tengboche
Monastery. It offers you magnificent views of Mt. Nuptse, Thamserku, Ama
Dablam, Lhotse, and Everest. If you are lucky to visit during the festive
seasons, you can observe the Buddhist ceremony at the monastery. Stay overnight
at Tengboche.
Altitude: Dingboche: 4,360m
The forest full with conifers, birch, and
rhododendrons greets you with a welcome smile you as you head downhill towards
Debuche. Cross the Imja River, and you are at Pangboche. Be the sole witness of
the scenic beauty of of Pangboche Monastery and those beautiful mountains. As
you pass the Imja Valley, crossing the Lobuche River, you will reach the trail that
climbs uphill to Dingboche Village surrounded by Chortens and prayer flags.
Stay overnight at Dingboche.
Altitude: Dingboche: 4,360m
Climbing Nagarjun Hill is a worthy venture .You will
get to enjoy the textures of the amazing
views of mountains such as Mt. Cha Lhotse, Lhotse, Makalu, Tawache, Ama Dablam,
etc. There is a spot over the ridge to
offer you the excellent views of
Dingboche Village and Imja Khola Valley. Because it is important to stay
persistently active during your acclimatization, you shall find lots of way to
be busy. Stay overnight at Dingboche.
Altitude:
Lobuche: 4,940m
The trail goes through
glacial moraine and ascends to Duglha. Afterwards it climbs steeply to Chupki
Lhara. This very spot is smeared with the memorials of climber Babu Chiri
Sherpa and Scott Fishcher— the deceased during their pursuit to
Everest. Further through the glacial moraine, witnessing the views of Mt.
Mahalangur, Pumori, Lingtren, and Khumbutse, following a valley, you shall
reach Lobuche. Stay overnight at Lobuche.
Altitude: Gorakshep: 5,170m; Everest Base Camp:
5,364m
The trail is rocky and strenuous. Past the
glacial moraine picking the views of Mt. Pumori you shall reach to Gorakshep.
Further, through moraine, rocky dunes, and difficult trail you shall reach to
the Everest Base Camp. The camp offers the views of Mt. Pumori, Nuptse, and
Khumbutse. This qualifies one of the major daring qualifiers for this
trek. After spending a while here, you shall descend down towards Gorakshep.
Stay overnight at Gorakshep.
Altitude: Kalapatthar: 5,545m; Pheriche: 4,288m
Early in the morning we
will set off to Kalapatthar. The trail is rocky and often challenging.
Nevertheless, don’t lose your heart to it. As you reach the top you will see the
magnificent views of Mt. Everest, Khumbutse, Lingtren, and Changtse—
gleaming in the sunrise. After spending sometime at this place, you can descend
down to Gorakshep, and head off towards Pheriche. The remaining is mostly
downhill through forest and pass several suspension bridges. Stay overnight at
Pheriche.
Altitude: Phortse Thanga: 3,810m
If you are real lucky
today, you might spot musk deer, mountain goats, mountain birds, and other
wildlife. Strolling around. Thamserku and Kangtega, the less travelled trail leads
to Phortse Thanga. Once you reach Phortse Thanga, the rest of the day is yours.
Since it is a Sherpa village, you might love a heartfelt encounter with Sherpas
and learn about their culture in proximity. Stay overnight at Phortse Thanga.
Altitude: Machhermo: 4,470m
The trail accompanying
Dudh Koshi River advances through forest full with rhododendron trees, past
waterfalls, all the way to Tongba Village. Today also if you are lucky you
might see some of the wild animals in this journey. Past Dole, the trail leaves
the villages of Luza and Labarma, reaching Machhermo. This is the last village
before reaching the Gokyo Valley. You can pay visit to Himalayan Rescue
Hospital located here. Stay overnight at Machhermo.
Altitude: Gokyo: 4,800m
The trail extends from ridge emanating the views of
Kangtega, Thamserku, Cho Oyu, and the Dudh Koshi Valley down below. Over the
Ngazumpa Glacier and moraines, the trail leads you to a stream. Past the bridge, you shall arrive at the first lake of Gokyo ;the
Longpongo. You can find the lama footprints engraved on a stone. Further ahead
is the second lake; Taboche Tsho. As you move further, you will see the third
lake;the Dudh Pokhari. Gokyo valley lies by this third lake. Stay overnight at
Gokyo.
Altitude: Gokyo: 4,800m
There are a range of things to do at Gokyo. You can
climb uphill to Gokyo Ri to witness the views of Khumbu region. Also venture
about four highest peaks such as Mt. Everest, Lhotse, Cho Oyu, and Makalu.
Visit the fourth lake; Thonak Tsho, and enjoy the blue sheet of pure vernal
water. Don’t miss the fifth lake; the Ngozumba Tsho, if you are still
physically and emotionally up for it. Enjoy the views of Ngozumba Glacier down below.
Stay overnight at Gokyo.
Altitude:
Dole: 4,038m
The trail leaves the first lake and descends down to
Dudh Koshi River, along which you shall walk for a while. Witnessing the views
of Taboche and Cholatse, you shall reach a Chhorten to catch views of
Thamserku, Kangtega, Cho Oyu, and other mountains. The trail passes Machhermo,
Luza, and Labarma, and this day you reach your destination. Stay overnight at
Dole.
Altitude: Namche Bazar: 3,438m
Past the rhododendron forest, enchanting waterfalls,
along with the glimpses of a few wildlife (if lucky) you shall march towards
Namche Bazar. Throughout the trek Mt. Taboche, Thamserku, Ama Dablam, and
Kangtega shall be your companion. Past Sanasa, the trail leads you to towards your
destination; Namche Bazar. Rest for a while, and if it not too late, you can
explore Namche Bazar. Stay overnight at Namche Bazar.
Altitude: Lukla: 2,860m
Through the rocky trail downhill you move past the
forest along with several villages
inhabited by Sherpas. You will now cross streams and rivers over suspension
bridges, and ascent just before you reach Lukla. Finally, you are just where
you had started the trek from. If you have time, you can stroll around Lukla
and replay the memories of your beginning. Stay overnight
at Lukla.
Altitude: Kathmandu:
1,320m
The 30-minute flight from Lukla to Kathmandu is encumbered with the scenic beauty of mountains and hilly landscape down below. Our representatives shall take you to your hotel. After you rest for a while, you can go for shopping for your return journey. We shall be sharing our trekking experiences in the dinner enjoying local delicacies. Stay overnight in Kathmandu.
Our representative shall take you to the airport
following the schedule. They shall then bid a farewell and return back from
