Trip Itinerary

Upon your arrival in Kathmandu, Ace Holidays Trek's representative will welcome you and transfer you to your hotel. Take this time to relax and recover from your journey, and later, there will be a briefing about the Everest Base Camp trek.

Kathmandu, the capital city of Nepal, is a treasure trove of cultural and historical landmarks, and among its many attractions, three iconic monuments stand out: Swayambhunath (Monkey Temple), Pashupatinath, and Boudhanath. These sites showcase the rich religious and architectural heritage of the Kathmandu Valley.

Swayambhunath (Monkey Temple):

Swayambhunath, also known as the Monkey Temple, is one of the oldest and most sacred stupas in Nepal. Perched atop a hill in the western part of Kathmandu, this ancient religious complex offers breathtaking panoramic views of the city and surrounding mountains. The stupa is adorned with a gleaming white dome and a gilded spire, topped by a captivating pair of big Buddha eyes that stare out in all four directions, symbolizing the omnipresence of the Buddha.

Surrounding the stupa are various shrines, statues, and Tibetan prayer flags. The site is not only a significant pilgrimage destination for Buddhists but also a harmonious blend of both Hindu and Buddhist traditions, as evident in the various shrines and temples present on the premises. The playful monkeys that inhabit the area add to the lively and spiritual atmosphere.

Pashupatinath:

Pashupatinath Temple is a sacred Hindu temple complex located on the banks of the Bagmati River. It is one of the most revered Hindu temples globally and holds immense cultural and religious significance. The main temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva in his form as Pashupati, the Lord of Animals.

The temple's architecture is a masterpiece of pagoda style with intricate wood carvings and golden embellishments. The complex also includes various shrines, ghats (cremation platforms), and ashrams. Pilgrims from all over the world visit Pashupatinath to seek blessings, attend religious ceremonies, and witness the mesmerizing Aarti (ceremonial prayer) along the riverbanks.

The Bagmati River, which flows alongside the temple, is considered holy, and cremation ceremonies are conducted here, following Hindu traditions. The temple's rich cultural heritage, spiritual ambiance, and the vibrant activities around the temple make it a must-visit destination for anyone exploring Kathmandu.

Boudhanath:

Boudhanath, often referred to as the Great Stupa, is one of the largest stupas in Nepal and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Located in the northeastern part of Kathmandu, this imposing structure is a hub of Tibetan Buddhism and a pilgrimage site for Buddhists from around the world.

The stupa is massive, with a colossal mandala at its base and a towering spire adorned with the watchful eyes of the Buddha, symbolizing wisdom and compassion. The entire structure is surrounded by a circular market, prayer wheels, and numerous monasteries. Boudhanath is a focal point for Tibetan culture in Kathmandu, and the area is dotted with shops selling Tibetan artifacts, thangkas (religious paintings), and traditional handicrafts.

The ambiance around Boudhanath is tranquil and spiritual, with pilgrims and tourists circumambulating the stupa while spinning prayer wheels and chanting mantras. The site becomes particularly magical in the early morning or late evening when the stupa is illuminated, creating a serene and enchanting atmosphere.

You have a scenic flight of 30–35 minutes to Lukla (2800 m) from Kathmandu. In Lukla, you can see the airline office and numerous lodges. The trail from Lukla leads you to Chablung (2700), and it descends steeply to the Tharo Kosi, which is also known as Kusum Kangru Khola (river). Beyond the Tharo Kosi Bridge, the trail climbs to Ghat (2590) and again climbs to Phadking. In Phadking, you can climb to the gompa to see your first view of the high peaks. Now you will really feel like you have arrived in the Himalayan Kingdom.

From Phadking, the trail follows the Dudh Koshi River and reaches Zamphuti. From here, you can see excellent views of Thamserku peak. Then the trail climbs to Chomoa, the site of an agricultural project—an interesting place to have a look around and gain an insight into the farming way of life of these people. From Chomoa, the trail again climbs to Monjo (2840 m) and enters the Sagarmatha (Everest) National Park (1148 sq km, established in 1976). After walking some distance uphill, you will be at Jorsale (2830  m), and after a long climb with views of Mt. Everest peeking over the ridge of Nuptse (7879  m), the trail reaches the street of Namche Bazaar.

After having breakfast, take some time to do some sightseeing around Namche Bazaar. Then you can hike to the Everest View Hotel, the ideal place to overview some of the outstanding mountains such as Mt. Everest, Ama Dablam, Thamserku, Lhotse, etc. Make sure you have your camera to capture this moment. You can return to Namche after walking around the Khumjung valley, Hillery School, and Khunde Hospital. In the center of Namche, you can visit the mountaineering museum and the Sagarmatha Pollution Control Committee (SPCC). In Namche Bazaar, you can spend some time interacting with the fun-loving Sherpa and Rai people. In Namche, above the police checkpoint, you will see Sagarmatha National Park headquarters, and if you want to look at the visitor center, it is open from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., except on Saturdays and holidays. Spend the night at the Guest House.

From Namche Bazaar, the trail climbs up and down to Sanasa, where the trail descends gradually to Teshinga and then drops steeply to Phunki Thanga. Climbing two hours from Phunki Thanga, you will reach Tengboche. Tengboche is a religious place for the Sherpa people and the entire Solukhumbu area. Here you will see the Tengboche Monastery, which is one of the oldest monasteries in Nepal. Maybe you can get a chance to see the monks chanting and singing.

Trek to Dingboche, a picturesque village nestled in the Khumbu region, at an altitude of 4,340 meters. The 5-hour trek takes you through beautiful landscapes and Sherpa settlements.

Take a well-deserved rest day in Dingboche for acclimatization. Optionally, embark on a short excursion to higher elevations to further acclimatize and enjoy breathtaking views.

Resume your trek to Lobuche at an altitude of 4,960 meters. The 5-hour trek takes you through the Khumbu Valley, providing glimpses of high-altitude landscapes.

The trail from Lobuche progresses gradually upward, providing splendid views of Mount Pumori. In the afternoon, you will reach Gorak Shep and have lunch in Gorak Shep, then go to E.B.C. After exploring the E.B.C., go back to Gork Shep, which is surrounded by mountains. Lunch, dinner, and breakfast will be served at the guesthouse. O/N at Gorak Shep.

Start your day with a climb to Kala Patthar, offering stunning panoramic views of Everest and neighboring peaks at an elevation of 5,643 meters. Descend to Pangboche at 3,900 meters for a well-deserved rest.

Continue your descent to Kyang-Jima at an altitude of 3,650 meters. Pass through Tengboche and enjoy the scenic landscapes during the 6-hour trek.

Descend to Monjo, situated at 2,880 meters, passing through Namche Bazaar. The 5-hour trek provides a mix of downhill trails and scenic views.

Complete your trek with a 4-hour descent to Lukla. Reflect on the journey and celebrate the accomplishment of reaching Everest Base Camp.

Take a flight back to Manthali/Ramechap from Lukla and then drive to Kathmandu, a journey of approximately 5 hours. Enjoy the scenic landscapes during the drive and return to the comforts of the capital.

Take a free day in Kathmandu for contingency or individual activities. Explore the city, shop for souvenirs, or simply relax before your departure.

Farewell to Nepal as you depart for your international journey home, carrying with you the memories of the iconic Everest Base Camp trek.

Superb experience, best travel agency in Kathmandu

We highly recommend the agency ACE Holiday Treks. Not only do they arrange great tours, but Narayan the owner of the company is one of the best guides and tour providers we have ever met on our travels. His approach to every traveller is superb, he will personally make sure that everything is going according to a plan and if not he will move mountains for you to help you. He certainly did that for us on multiple occasions. We would probably not be able to start our Everest Base camp trek without his help. And the best thing about Narayan is that we did not even book a tour through his company, and he still helped us a lot with our independent travelling. He simply treats everyone as a VIP customer, which in today's world is something truly special.

Best experience of my life !

I visited Nepal jn November 2019 to trek Everest Base camp. I am a solo traveler so I spent months researching for a great trekking company. After contacting multiple companies, Ace holiday treks was by far the most friendly and professional company I received a response from. I began planning my trip with Narayan months before arriving and he was always happy to answer any questions I had prior to arriving. Although I landed in Kathmandu a week before my trek and had alternative accommodation, he still ensured that he would organize transportation to my hotel so I would be safe and comfortable. He made a effort to meet me days before my trek and took me for a lovely dinner to welcome me to Nepal. Romesh was my guide for the duration of the trek. I got sick twice unfortunately and he always made sure I was ok and never encouraged me to push my body. He was happy to extend my trek by 4 days just to ensure I made it to base camp healthy and happy. We played cards every evening and it is very obvious that our guide is well respected and loved in the mountains. Narayan was always kind and messaged or phoned everyday to make sure everything was ok on the mountains. The mountains are the most beautiful place in the world and Ace holiday trek definitely made my trip the most unforgettable experience I have ever had. I am so grateful to Narayan, Romesh and our young porterwho carried our bags. I wish I had more time in Nepal to book another trip with Ace but I am looking forward to another trip next year. The only trekking company to use is Ace! You wont be disappointed! :) thank you Ace trekking team!

Narayan went above and beyond

Trip made: Everest Base Camp, Nepal Duration: 18 to 30 November I came across this very same page lauding praises and compliments for Narayan and his team. All of the reviews in general were very positive and flattering. I thought, I must contact this person to find out more. I contacted Narayan, thinking that I would merely get a quotation and find out more about the trip my husband and I wish to make, the Everest Base Camp trek. Narayan was enthusiastic and helpful, answering all of our queries patiently. When I enquired about extending our trek to include Gokyo Lake, Narayan was honest with us. He did not push us to extend the trip (which he could profit from) but instead factually told us the cost and the extra days needed. He was also quick to contact us to discuss over the phone (quicker than messaging) and was ever respectful and courteous in his messages, always checking in with a simple "How are you?" and communicating easily about his guiding experience and his experience organising treks. Even before we met, we already relied on him to guide us through what will later be the adventure of a lifetime. Narayan arranged our trek very smoothly, from the administrative affairs (collecting passport details, arranging domestic flight) to actually picking us up, thoughtfully sending a photo of himself for easy identification upon our arrival and warmly greeted us with welcome flowers. When we arrived at Pilgrim Hotel in the night, Narayan sat us down and briefed us again about our trek. He also warned us about fake helicopter rescue scams and assured us that Ace Holiday Treks conducts its business professionally. We trekked with Shusil (our trekking guide) and Gauraf (our porter) who were both steadfast and helpful throughout our adventure. We had an amazing time. During our trek, I suffered from AMS due to the high altitude. As such, my husband and I had to descend for my recovery. During this difficult period, Narayan while not physically with us, guided us and helped us over the phone, checking in with my physical status and coaching us on navigating the situation that we are in. When we arrived back in Kathmandu, Narayan met us and was with us throughout. He could have left us to manage on our own and figure our way out but he came down even when his presence was not needed. His presence was comforting and assuring and we felt that we were in good hands with Narayan. As a result of our early descent, we had a few extra days in Kathmandu. My husband and I mostly took it easy as I was still recovering. Narayan was certainly not obliged to fill up our days for us as this was not part of the arrangement. However, his good-natured self invited us for a warm family dinner at his home and he even arranged for his employees to bring us out to check out the local market. During this period, Narayan was easily contactable and was a comforting presence to us. Would I go to Nepal again for another trekking adventure? Likely yes, to another region. Would I go with Narayan again? A resounding 100% YES! Narayan is everything you would want in a tour agent: professional, approachable, honest and most importantly, has a kind heart and looks after YOUR interests. He ensures that you are always comfortable and will advise according to your needs. We thought that signing up with Narayan was a business transaction like any other holiday arrangement e.g. book a hotel, book a guide, book a flight. We pay the money and we get a guided trek in return. But what we did not count on was forging a relationship with Narayan. He is an incredibly thoughtful, respectful and amazingly, despite his achievements as a self-made man, he was extremely down to earth and humble. Truly, we are very glad that we went on our amazing adventure with Narayan as our tour agent. We would not have done it any other way. Whatever happened on our trek was a blessing in disguise as we met a kind soul in Narayan. We look forward to our next trekking trip with Ace Holiday Treks! We highly recommend you to pick up your phone and drop Narayan a text! Find out more about the trip that you want to make and get to know Narayan yourself.

We could not be happier

We had the best time in Nepal thanks to Narayan and his Ace Holidays Trek. Even though we always travel independently and arrange all flights and accommodation by ourselves, in Nepal it was different. We just could not buy flights online, so we started to look for a local agency. Our friend recommended us Narayan and his Ace Holidays Trek agency and we could not be more thankful. Narayan personally helped us with all the arrangements, he assisted us with flight rebookings and even though he did not have to, he stayed in touch with us during the whole trek in case we need his help or guidance. What we really appreciate was his personal involvement, he puts clients and travellers needs as his priority and he feels personally responsible for you to have a great time while visiting Nepal. Even though we did the Everest trek base camp independently, we are planning to come back and do the Upper Mustang trek, but this time with Ace Holidays Trek. I would not choose any other agency, because there are a lot of agencies involved in travellers scams. I would recommend Ace Holidays Trek agency to anyone who wishes to have a great time in Nepal with great services and a personal approach. It was our privilege to meet someone as Narayan.

The Trip/Trek Of A Lifetime

I recently took my family over on referral of friends and we got the presidential treatment. We got off the plane and was immediately met by Narayan Bhatta who had arranged every minute of our trip save for our personal time. Escort to the hotel in a nice car, dinner and to our hotel which seemed to be above average. We took a trek to Everest Base Camp with all things arranged. We loved the Everest Base Camp Trail so much we extended a day. We were in constant contact to headquarters back in Thamel so constant monitoring was appreciated. We have photos and memories of a life time. Thank you Narayan and Ace Holiday Treks!
